Before these arrived, Rivian sent the R1T set instead of the R1S. I confirmed it was wrong, sent it back, and waited for the correct ones. So by the time the R1S all-weather mats finally showed up, my expectations were set: first-party accessory, should fit perfectly.
That’s not exactly what happened.
What Comes Stock

The R1S ships with thin fabric floor mats that match the lighter interior. I actually liked them — they held up for 15 months in my R1T without issue. But they’re not all-weather. The OEM all-weather set is the upgrade Rivian sells for spill and debris protection.
The OEM Mats Up Close
The all-weather set for the R1S covers: driver side, passenger side, second row, third row. Black TPE, Made in USA, every piece labeled clearly — “Front Driver,” “R1S Rear” — no abbreviations to decode. The yellow Rivian logo is molded through both sides of the mat, not a sticker.
The underside has small molded nubs for grip, plus retaining fasteners that lock into the factory floor anchors. The labels spell out exactly where each piece goes.
Front Row Installation
Driver side goes in first. The fasteners line up, the mat drops into place, and the fit is good — walls are high, liquid containment works as designed. One edge lifts slightly near the door, but not enough to be a real concern.

Passenger side is the same story. Fitment is close but not tight — the edge near the door comes up a little, leaving a small gap where debris could slip under. The raised walls still do their job for liquid.

Second and Third Row: The Problem
This is where I stopped expecting perfection and started documenting issues.

Second row bulges. The mat doesn’t lay flat — it pushes up at the edges instead of conforming to the floor. I tried repositioning it, adjusted the fasteners, and got the same result. For a third-party mat that’s disappointing. For a first-party mat designed specifically for this vehicle, it’s harder to accept.
Third row is similar. The cutout for the seat rail anchor doesn’t line up when the fasteners are engaged. You can either get the fasteners seated or get the cutout aligned — not both. The raised walls are there all the way to the outer edges, which is good. The fitment underneath is not.

Rivian’s Response: Within Spec
I sent photos to Rivian and got a response asking whether my R1S was Gen 1 or Gen 2 before ultimately being told the fitment was within spec.

That’s not the answer you want on a first-party accessory. Third-party brands fit this floor better. That’s what pushed me toward testing alternatives, and eventually led to the 3W set that addressed the second and third row directly.
Verdict
The Rivian OEM all-weather mats do what they’re primarily designed to do — keep liquid off the carpet. The raised walls work. For that purpose, they’re a functional upgrade over the stock fabric mats.
The fitment in the second and third row is the issue. For the price of a first-party accessory, you’d expect it to sit flush in the vehicle it was made for. Mine didn’t, and Rivian’s answer was “within spec.” Whether yours fits better may depend on build date or production run — check with other R1S owners before ordering if fitment matters to you.
